Expanding Our Reach:
Dental Missions in Mexico
Dr. Wehrle’s commitment to service didn’t stop at the Texas border. For over a decade, he’s worked in Puebla, Mexico, providing dental care in communities where people often struggle to access basic health services. These efforts expanded to include:
• Clean water initiatives in underserved villages
• Solar-powered MP3 players loaded with the Bible for remote, high-illiteracy areas
• Collaborations with clinics across Mexico and even into Argentina
One of the greatest outcomes of this work was the decision to build a permanent dental training and treatment center—ensuring that high-quality, low-cost care would be available to residents long after volunteer missions ended.
The Wehrle Implant Immersion Clinic:
Training Dentist and Transforming Lives Worldwide
That vision became reality with the Wehrle Implant Immersion Clinic (WIIC) in Puebla. Unlike short-term mission clinics, WIIC is a permanent facility focused on both education and direct patient care. Here’s what sets it apart:
• A modern 12-operatory dental clinic equipped with cutting-edge technology
• A fully staffed lab with 3D printers and milling machines for same-day restorations
• An on-site restaurant serving nutritious meals for students, instructors, and patients
• A 30-room hotel to accommodate visiting dental professionals
• A large conference center for lectures, workshops, and hands-on training
• A rooftop gym to help everyone stay healthy and energized
This innovative setup immerses dentists in real-world patient care while local residents receive free or low-cost treatments they could never have afforded otherwise.
Building Futures:
Casa del Sol Orphanage in Puebla
Our commitment in Puebla goes beyond dentistry. We’re also investing time, resources, and love into Casa del Sol, an orphanage dedicated to providing children with a nurturing environment where they can grow and thrive. Current projects include:
• Constructing a library to inspire a lifelong love of reading
• Building a playground and soccer field so children can play, laugh, and just be kids
• Establishing a counseling center to address emotional and psychological needs
• Adding a water park to offer fun, healthy recreation
• Helping children obtain educational scholarships for building their bright future
From laying foundations to pouring concrete and rebuilding structures, we’re creating a better, brighter future for these children—one project at a time.
